Radio Resource Management - Connection Mobility Control eNodeB Source Handover Strategies
نویسنده
چکیده
Radio Resource Management (RRM) is an E-UTRAN Node B (eNodeB) application level function that ensures the efficient use of available radio resources. RRM manages the assignment, re-assignment and release of radio resources taking into account single and multi-cell aspects. Connection Mobility Control (CMC) is a sub-function of RRM. It is required in the idle as well as connected mode. In idle mode there will be cell selection and reselection. The connected mode will involve Handover procedures triggered on the basis of the outcome of CMC Algorithms. This paper primarily focuses on the connected mode of User Equipment (UE) at the Source eNodeB. We discuss a strategy for CMC, including a determination of Handover and the criteria for Target cell determination for Handover. Mukesh Kumar Das is working as an IT Analyst with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the Telecom Next-Gen R&D group for the past one year. He is involved in Initiatives and Proof of Concept(PoC)for LTE technology. He has used his experience and understanding of CMC to write this paper. Late Saugata Mukherjee was working as a Consultant with TCS in a Large R&D Telecom account and with the Telecom Next-Gen R&D group. He had significant experience in wireless access and core technologies.

متن کاملHandover Strategies Challenges in Wireless ATM Networks
To support user mobility for a wireless network new mechanisms are needed and are fundamental, such as paging, location updating, routing, and handover. Also an important key feature is mobile QoS offered by the WATM. Several ATM network protocols should be updated to implement mobility management and to maintain the already ATM QoS over wireless ATM networks. A survey of the various schemes an...

Vertical handover decision (VHD) is a complex strategy in heterogeneous wireless networks because of its significance on network application and performance. The mechanism adopted for the vertical handover utilizes the “break – before – make” phenomenon. However, issue of network availability and the choice of the best available network may be an illusion as the mechanism is subjected to many d...

The aviation community is currently working on the standardization of data communication systems for the future air traffic management (ATM). The standardization effort has two main streams, namely, standardization of future radio access technologies in the L-band (i.e., LDACS) and standardization of a future IPv6-based aeronautical telecommunications network (ATN/IPS). In this thesis, differen...
